The Miracle of Prayer
Written and arranged by Jonathan Hibbard for SATB Choir with Solo
What love would cause my Lord to suffer
And bear a cross that should be mine!
Though He was faultless, He paid the sin debt
Of lowly sinners such as I.
How could I dare approach the Father
With sin that caused His Son to die?
But on Christ’s nail scars my name is written,
And by His name I now draw nigh!
For access to the Father is given unto me,
Not because of any merit of my own.
The precious blood of Jesus has made a way for me,
So that I can go with boldness to the throne!
What a gift that God would share!
Hallelujah for the miracle of prayer!
There’s no request God deems too little.
No plea I utter goes unheard,
But even greater, my Father answers
Just as He promised in His Word!
For access to the Father is given unto me,
Not because of any merit of my own.
The precious blood of Jesus has made a way for me,
So that I can go with boldness to the throne!
What a gift that God would share!
Hallelujah for the miracle of prayer!
Lord God forgive me of my worry,
When I can come to Thee and pray!
All heaven’s power is His this hour,
And I can call upon His name!
For access to the Father is given unto me,
Not because of any merit of my own.
The precious blood of Jesus has made a way for me,
So that I can go with boldness to the throne!
What a gift that God would share!
Hallelujah for the miracle of prayer!
